TRADITIONAL GRAPPLING & SELF-DEFENSE
BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU GI
Program Overview
Jiu-Jitsu is an ancient martial art initially created for self-defense and wartime close-quarters combat. At 5 Boro FightHaus (formerly American Killer Bees NYC), our Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program teaches practitioners how to use leverage, technique, and joint locks to neutralize larger, stronger opponents.
Technique & Uniform Control
With Gi training, practitioners utilize the traditional Jiu-Jitsu uniform (kimono) and belt to establish precise control grips, lapel chokes, sleeve locks, and guard variations. The added friction and fabric grips slow down the pace of sparring, placing a high emphasis on technique, tactical patience, and positional dominance.
